Dr. Shannon Farnel BSc. (Hons) DC
I grew up in New Brunswick and earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia in 1993. Since graduation, I proudly wear the well-known “X-ring”. I was introduced to chiropractic in my 20s as a means to relieve the near-constant back pain and headaches that had developed once I attended university. I soon discovered that my pain was a result of uncorrected physical trauma that had probably occurred in my childhood. That revelation has driven me to provide care to people of all ages and stages of life, from pregnant women and infants through to senior citizens. Following my first degree, I accepted a position as a Residence Manager in Hay River, NT, looking after the care and education of 18 students from a nearby Dene First Nation community. Chiropractic once again helped me, and I then decided that this profession was the perfect fit to help unite the mind and the body. I graduated in 1999 from the Doctor of Chiropractic program at CMCC in Toronto.
Upon graduation, I wanted to provide chiropractic to an area in need and started a practice in High Level and La Crete in Northern Alberta. The families in the area embraced chiropractic, and it was common to have a family of nine people in one adjustment room, all waiting their turn. I came to Chestermere in 2003 and have been at the same clinic since then, taking care of the lovely families in this community. I update my knowledge and techniques through yearly continuing education. I am also a member in good standing with the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors.
I am proud of the reputation I have earned for thoroughness, compassion and quality of care. I enjoy living in Chestermere with my family.
Dr. Ted D’Amico, DC
My name is Ted D’Amico and I have been a practicing chiropractor since 1980. I was 8 years old when I had my first chiropractic adjustment. My parents always took me to the chiropractor first before the MD. From this, my love for chiropractic grew, especially the natural approach to health without drugs or surgery.
I have developed a family style practice for the past 40 years. One of my biggest compliments is seeing my patients grow up with the belief in chiropractic and having them refer generations of family members to me.
I have 18 chiropractors in my family, including my wife, 2 brothers, and a host of in-laws. As you can see for us, chiropractic is a way of life.
I have two children; my daughter Brittani is a practicing Veterinarian in the US and my son Jared will become the 18th chiropractor this December 2020.
Dr. Wanda Duong, DTCM, R.Ac.
My interest in health and sciences started young. Growing up, I was introduced to different modalities of Chinese medicine whenever illness came on. The use of cupping, gua-sha (scraping) and Chinese herbs were very prominent to encourage healing. My interest in the field of holistic, alternative medicine continued while I got introduced to chiropractic and naturopathic medicine in grade school. With an interest in biology and physiology, I completed my bachelor’s degree in biological sciences through the University of Calgary and continued to complete a diploma in natural nutrition before embarking into the field of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
As a competitive dragon boat paddler, I have developed a special interest in sports therapy and know the importance of prevention, recovery and injury rehabilitation. Although trained to address many conditions, I have experience with many pain management cases; I enjoy working with individuals, prenatal and postnatal, including induction, and other gynecological issues. Anxiety, stress, headaches, immune support and digestive issues are additional areas I enjoy working quite a bit with.
I value my patients and their health, and bring into my practice different modalities to provide the best care I can. This might include acupuncture, cupping, gua-sha (scraping), moxibustion, auricular therapy, diet therapy and Chinese herbal formulas to promote and encourage healing and health.
Painting, music, being outdoors and spending time with my fiancé, family and friends, and three Chihuahuas brings my heart and mind much joy and peace.

Cassie, Chiropractic Assistant
I have worked in this office since September, 2008. I have seen the many ways that chiropractic can help people. I am so happy to be a part of this team and enjoy seeing the patients realize the wonderful, healing benefits of chiropractic care and massage therapy.
I am here to help with any of your questions, the organization of appointment schedules, insurance/billing needs, and making you feel comfortable in our office.
Working the front desk gives me the opportunity to meet, greet and interact with so many great people as they come and go. I have a front row seat to watch the progress they make in this office. I have seen these changes in myself, my family, and patients of all ages, from newborn to elderly.
Anna, Office Assistant
My name is Anna! I joined the Chestermere Family Chiropractic team in June, 2015.
My love for chiropractic started when I graduated from Robertson College with my Medical Office Assistant Diploma and started working at North Kildonan Chiropractic in Winnipeg, MB. I immigrated to Canada from Israel in 2008 with my husband and 2 sons. We received our Canadian Citizenship in November 2014.
I enjoy working at the front desk as it gives me the opportunity to meet many great people and see how chiropractic helps them in their daily lives.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking and travelling.
I look forward to seeing you in the office!
